Rep. Tipton: World Has No Place for Anti-Semitism

Statement

Date: Jan. 27, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

Today marks 75 years since Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated and is remembered by the world as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. To commemorate the solemn day, Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03) signed onto a letter denouncing anti-Semitism and voted in support of H.R. 943, the Never Again Education Act, a bill to establish a grant program that encourages educating students about the Holocaust.

"On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we are reminded of the evils that existed in the last century and the lingering pains felt 75 years later. The deaths and mass-suffering of millions is unimaginable and must never be forgotten," said Tipton. "Unfortunately, many Jewish people around the world continue to live in fear as we witness an increase in attacks on Jewish places of worship and of anti-Semitism in general. The UN documenting discrimination and hate crimes and making recommendations on how to deter future attacks is a needed show of support for the Jewish community. I am honored to join over 100 of my colleagues to send a unified and bipartisan message that anti-Semitism and all forms of hate speech have no place in this world."
